It is often said that home is the sweetest of all places in the world. At home you live with your parents, brothers and sisters and some others in joint families. You are loved and pampered immensely but at the same time you have to live your life as per the rules framed by the elders in the house. Your time to go to bed, to rise or even to take your food or bath has to follow certain pattern. You are not independent even when you are alone at home.

When you move into college or university life and shift to hostels, you may feel uncomfortable for a week or so but with a time you relive that now on you are master of your life. It is you who will decide when to go to bed, when to rise or even make some genuine or fictitious excuses to decide the time of taking your meals. Within no time you realise that you may not be alone but always wonderfully independent at the same time. You live in such a big family where no one else is in any way hindrance to your independence. Here you learn to adjust even with such fellows who may have come from the life style which may be diametrically opposite to yours, but still you have to adjust as equals. And then you may come across someone who are complete followers of “BHAGWAT GITA” i.e.

NOTHING BELONGS TO YOU, WHATEVER YOU HAVE, BELONGS TO EVERY ONE ELSE.

The M.L.S.M.College Girls Hostel is located within the college campus and is an integral part of the College. Hostel affairs are co-ordinated under the guidance and supervision of the resident warden. The warden is assisted by hostel committee and students’ union. The hostel committee under the chairmanship of the Principal frames the rules and regulations of the hostel and is the final authority in matters concerning the hostel. Due to the limited seats, hostel admission has always been a sought-after affair. The fact that admissions are only granted to the meritorious students provides an assurance about the quality. M.L.S.M.College Girls’ Hostel aims to provide a convenient and a comfortable stay for the outstation students. Also, it works to minimize the cost in terms of time so that the hostel residents can use the same for other significant purposes. The girls’ hostel also satisfies the vital objective of ensuring safety of girls.

Criteria & Rules

1. Student admitted to any course in the College is eligible for Hostel Accommodation.

2. Admission is granted strictly on the merit of previous, qualifying examination under the respective category on the basis of criteria on which candidate is admitted to the course.

3. Each resident must have one Local Guardian. A person cannot be the local guardian for more than one candidate.

4. The candidates qualified for accommodation shall be required to fill a prescribed form with required documents within scheduled time period as per Notification.

5. The selected candidates shall be required to deposit the full fee within the scheduled time as per Notification.

6. Admission to the Hostel cannot be claimed as a matter of right.

(For Students other than from the First Year of UG and PG)

Criteria & Rules

1. Student should have qualified to the second or third year of UG and second year of PG course and has deposited the fees in the College.

2. The student should have minimum 75 % of attendance in the previous year of the course.

3. There should have been no serious disciplinary action against the student during the previous stay in the hostel.

4. Each resident must have one Local Guardian. A person cannot be the local guardian for more than one candidate.

5. The candidates qualified for accommodation shall be required to fill a prescribed form with required documents within scheduled time period as per Notification.

6. The selected candidates shall be required to deposit the full fee within the scheduled time as per Notification.

7. Admission to the Hostel cannot be claimed as a matter of right.

Admission Procedure & Formalities:

1. Candidates desirous for hostel accommodation will have to fill a prescribed application form with the Hostel within the scheduled dates as per Notification for Hostel Accommodation. Incomplete and unsigned application shall be liable for rejection.

2. The list of eligible candidates in order of merit under the respective category is placed on the Notice Board and Website of the College. No personal intimation is given to any candidate.

3. The eligible candidates are required to complete admission formalities and deposit the fees within the prescribed time period as per Notification.

4. Allotment of room is made only after deposit of fees.

Documents Required:

Each candidate qualified for hostel accommodation shall be required to submit following documents.

1. Proof of present residence: Attested copy of ration card or equivalent document.

2. Self-attested copies of relevant documents:-

a) Marks Sheet of last qualifying exam.

b) Class X Certificate and Mark Sheet

c) Category Certificate (if applicable).

d) College Admission Fee Slip.

3. Together with admission from two Undertakings for anti-ragging to be submitted by either of the parents and the student both in the prescribed format given in the Prospectus.

Infrastructure And Facilities

Rooms

The Hostel has a total number of 27 furnished rooms. The rooms are allotted on sharing basis among THREE students. Cleaning is done on daily basis by the house keeping staff. The washrooms are separate from the rooms within the hostel.

Mess

The hostel has a separate mess where residents can take their meals. It is managed by the Contractor. The menu is decided by the residents’ council. The mess is operated thrice a day – at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Common Room

For the recreation of residents the hostel has a common room. News-papers and magazines are provided in the Common Room. Carom-board, Chess and Table Tennis facilities are also available to the residents in the Common Room. A wall mounted Television with a modest cable connection is also in place.

Tennis Court and Play Ground

There is a tennis court and a play ground near the hostel compound.

Wi-Fi

Hostel residents are provided with Wi-Fi facility. Internet is available round the clock

The residents are required to pay Annual Charges and Security Amount at the time of admission to Hostel. In addition, they are also required to pay Monthly charges comprising of Electricity Bill, Water Charges and Mess Bill every month on actual basis after the admission.
